Pasabag (Monks Valley)

The most famous cluster of multi-headed fairy chimneys in Cappadocia, resembling giant mushrooms. Named 'Monks Valley' because Byzantine hermits lived in hermitages carved into these rocks. Some towers have multiple basalt caps. Some rocks can be climbed and hermitages entered. Historic vineyard area (Pasa = vineyard).

Yes! Some hermitages accessible via metal ladders or rock-cut steps. St Simeon Church (3-headed) has rooms to explore. Be careful on steep ladders
