Koh Lanta is a long island in Krabi province that has preserved its relaxed atmosphere thanks to the absence of an airport. Uncrowded beaches, Muslim fishing villages, mangrove forests, and a national park make it an alternative to overcrowded Phuket.

Beaches

Klong Dao is the main beach with infrastructure. Long Beach is long and peaceful. Bakantiang is secluded with resorts.

National Park

Mu Ko Lanta at the southern tip features jungle, beaches, and a lighthouse with panoramic views.

How to Get There

Ferries from Krabi (2 hours), Phi Phi (1 hour). Best season is November-April.
