Little Venice
Little Venice is a charming historic fishermen's district on the eastern bank of the Regnitz River, featuring a row of colorful half-timbered houses dating from the 15th to 17th centuries. These tiny homes balance on poles directly above the water, with small gardens, terraces, and boat moorings reaching right to the waterline. Locals still use the boats tied up outside their houses. The best viewing points are the Untere Brucke bridge near the Old Town Hall and Am Leinritt on the opposite bank. In summer, red geraniums spill from flower boxes, creating a postcard-perfect scene.
