Old Town Hall Bamberg
The Old Town Hall is Bamberg's most iconic landmark, built on an artificial island in the middle of the Regnitz River. Legend says the bishop refused to grant land to the citizens, so they created their own island. The building features a unique blend of Baroque and Rococo styles with stunning exterior frescoes painted by Anton Greiner in 1962. It houses the famous Ludwig porcelain collection, one of the largest in Europe, and is a centerpiece of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The half-timbered house attached to the bridge seems to float above the water.
