How to Get There

MTR to Wong Tai Sin station (green Kwun Tong Line), Exit B2. The temple is a 2-minute walk from the station exit.

What to Expect

Entering through the main gate, you'll see a huge courtyard where hundreds of worshippers shake cylinders with bamboo sticks (kau chim). The main hall with gilded statues impresses with its grandeur. There's a Wishing Well Garden and beautiful Good Wish Chinese Garden. Many fortune tellers offer stick interpretations for a small fee.

Take a bamboo cylinder with numbered sticks, kneel before the altar, ask your question, and shake the cylinder until one stick falls out. Remember the number and go to fortune tellers sitting around the temple — they'll explain the meaning for HK$20-50.

Modest clothing covering shoulders and knees is recommended. Avoid very short shorts and spaghetti strap tops. This is an active temple with worshippers, so respectful attire is appreciated, though there's no strict dress code.
