October to February offers cooler weather for climbing the steps. Arrive early morning to avoid crowds and afternoon fog. The cable car may close during strong winds or typhoons. Weekdays are significantly less crowded than weekends.

Nehmen Sie die Ngong Ping 360 Seilbahn von der MTR Tung Chung Station (Tung Chung Line). Die Fahrt dauert 25 Minuten. Alternative: Bus 23 von Tung Chung (langsamer, aber günstiger).

Climb 268 steps to reach the Buddha base - be prepared for the exercise. The statue entrance is free, but the exhibition inside costs HK$78. Nearby Po Lin Monastery is worth visiting and has a famous vegetarian restaurant. The Ngong Ping Village has shops and restaurants. Crystal Cabin cable car offers glass-bottom experience for extra fee.

The best photos are from the bottom of the 268 steps looking up at the Buddha. For panoramic shots including the monastery, use the viewing platform at Ngong Ping Village. The Wisdom Path nearby offers serene forest photos with wooden steles.
