Stadhuis Delft
Delft's Stadhuis is a Dutch Renaissance masterpiece designed by renowned architect Hendrick de Keyser, rebuilt in 1620 after a devastating fire. The building incorporates the medieval tower Het Steen which once served as a prison - the assassin of William the Silent was held and tortured here in 1584. Today it functions as the city's government building and popular wedding venue, featuring a collection of historical paintings and a replica of the first microscope made by Antoni van Leeuwenhoek.
