Rothenburg's city walls are among the best preserved in Germany, stretching approximately 2.5 kilometers with 42 towers. Visitors can walk along the top of the walls through covered walkways offering magnificent views of the old town and surrounding countryside. The fortifications were built between the 13th and 16th centuries and include original gates, watchtowers, and defensive platforms.
