Porte Narbonnaise
The Porte Narbonnaise is the main eastern gate of the fortified city, built around 1280. It features two massive pointed towers with turrets and a complex series of defenses including a barbican, drawbridge, and double gate. A bust of the legendary Lady Carcas stands at the entrance — according to legend, she saved the city by tricking Charlemagne. The gate is the most photographed entrance to the citadel.
