Plönlein
Plönlein is the most photographed spot in Rothenburg and the unofficial symbol of the town. The name means 'small place by the fountain'. This picturesque intersection features a crooked yellow half-timbered house from medieval times framed by two town towers - the Siebersturm and Kobolzeller Tor. It inspired Walt Disney as the model for Geppetto's house in the 1940 film Pinocchio. This fairytale-like scene attracts millions of visitors annually.
