Elephantine Island
Elephantine Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 5,000 years of history. This Nile island was a vital trading hub between Egypt and Nubia in ancient times. It features ruins of the Temple of Khnum (the ram-headed god of the Nile), a 3,000-year-old Nilometer for measuring Nile floods, the Aswan Museum, and two traditional Nubian villages (Siou and Koti) preserving authentic Nubian culture.
