Qasr Al Watan is the UAE's presidential palace, open to the public. The snow-white building spanning 36 football fields showcases Arabian craftsmanship, national history, and modern governance. This is a rare opportunity to glimpse inside an active head of state residence.

History and Purpose

The palace was built in 2017 as part of the presidential palace complex. The name means "Palace of the Nation." Official receptions, summits, and state ceremonies are held here. Part of the building has been open for tours since 2019.

Architecture

Traditional Arabian architecture in modern execution. White granite and limestone, geometric patterns, domes, arches. Everything is symmetrical and grand. At night, the facade becomes a screen for a light show.

Interiors

The Great Hall with a 37-meter-high dome is the heart of the palace. A chandelier of 350,000 crystals. Walls decorated with golden arabesques.

Library

A collection of rare manuscripts and books on Arab science, astronomy, and mathematics. Interactive screens tell of Arab scholars' contributions to world civilization.

House of Knowledge

An exhibition about UAE governance: constitution, symbols, history of the emirates' unification.

Light Show

Every evening the facade becomes a screen for the 15-minute "Palace in Motion" show. Starts after sunset.

The palace is located next to Sheikh Zayed Mosque - convenient to combine. Open daily. Dress code: modest clothing. Allow 1.5-2 hours for viewing plus the show.
