स्विट्जरलैंड को समझने के लिए आपको पहले यह समझना होगा कि यह सिर्फ एक देश नहीं है - यह प्रकृति की एक अद्भुत कृति है। जब मैंने पहली बार जुंगफ्राउयोख की चोटी से नीचे देखा, तो मेरी आंखों में आंसू आ गए थे। यह कोई अतिशयोक्ति नहीं है - वो नजारा इतना अविश्वसनीय था कि दिमाग उसे प्रोसेस करने में समय लेता है।
भारतीयों के लिए स्विट्जरलैंड का एक विशेष आकर्षण है। यश चोपड़ा की फिल्मों ने इस देश को हमारे सामूहिक सपनों का हिस्सा बना दिया है। दिलवाले दुल्हनिया ले जाएंगे में शाहरुख और काजोल का सरसों के खेत जैसा दृश्य याद है? वो स्विट्जरलैंड में फिल्माया गया था। चांदनी, डर, मोहब्बतें - इन सब फिल्मों ने स्विट्जरलैंड को भारतीय रोमांस का पर्याय बना दिया।
लेकिन फिल्मों से परे भी स्विट्जरलैंड के पास बहुत कुछ है। यहां की ट्रेनें समय पर चलती हैं - और जब मैं समय पर कहता हूं, तो मेरा मतलब है कि अगर ट्रेन 10:07 पर आनी है, तो वो 10:07 पर ही आएगी। भारत से आने वाले यात्रियों के लिए यह अनुभव अपने आप में आश्चर्यजनक है।
प्राकृतिक विविधता जो चौंका दे
स्विट्जरलैंड का क्षेत्रफल भारत के केरल राज्य से भी कम है, लेकिन इसमें जो विविधता है वो अद्भुत है। उत्तर में आपको जर्मन संस्कृति मिलेगी, पश्चिम में फ्रेंच, दक्षिण में इटालियन, और पूर्व में रोमांश। एक छोटे से देश में चार राष्ट्रीय भाषाएं - यह अपने आप में एक चमत्कार है।
भूगोल की बात करें तो यहां आपको 4000 मीटर से ऊंची बर्फीली चोटियां मिलेंगी, गहरी नीली झीलें मिलेंगी, हरी-भरी घाटियां मिलेंगी, और भूमध्यसागरीय जलवायु वाले क्षेत्र भी मिलेंगे। टिसिनो में आप पाम के पेड़ों के नीचे बैठकर इटालियन एस्प्रेसो पी सकते हैं, और कुछ घंटों बाद आप ज़रमैट में बर्फ में खेल सकते हैं।
सुरक्षा और व्यवस्था
भारतीय महिला यात्रियों के लिए यह जानना महत्वपूर्ण है कि स्विट्जरलैंड दुनिया के सबसे सुरक्षित देशों में से एक है। आप रात को अकेले घूम सकती हैं, पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट में बिना किसी चिंता के यात्रा कर सकती हैं। मेरी पत्नी ने कई बार अकेले स्विट्जरलैंड में घूमा है और उसे कभी असुरक्षित महसूस नहीं हुआ।
यहां की व्यवस्था देखकर आपको लगेगा कि यह कोई और ग्रह है। सड़कें साफ हैं, कचरा नहीं दिखता, लोग कतार में खड़े होते हैं, और सबसे बड़ी बात - कोई हॉर्न नहीं बजाता। भारत से आने के बाद यह शांति पहले अजीब लगती है, फिर सुकून देने लगती है।
लेकिन कुछ कड़वी सच्चाइयां भी हैं
मैं आपसे ईमानदार रहूंगा - स्विट्जरलैंड सबके लिए नहीं है। अगर आप बजट ट्रैवलर हैं और हर पैसा गिनकर खर्च करते हैं, तो यहां आपको तकलीफ होगी। एक साधारण भोजन में 25-30 स्विस फ्रैंक (लगभग 2500-3000 रुपये) खर्च हो जाते हैं। एक बोतल पानी जो भारत में 20 रुपये की मिलती है, यहां 3-4 फ्रैंक (300-400 रुपये) की है।
दूसरी बात - अगर आप मसालेदार भारतीय खाने के बिना नहीं रह सकते, तो यहां थोड़ी मुश्किल होगी। हां, बड़े शहरों में भारतीय रेस्तरां हैं, लेकिन वो महंगे हैं और स्वाद भी वैसा नहीं जैसा भारत में मिलता है। मैं हमेशा अपने साथ कुछ इंस्टेंट नूडल्स, अचार, और मसाले लेकर जाता हूं।
तीसरी बात - स्विट्जरलैंड में नाइटलाइफ या पार्टी कल्चर उतना vibrant नहीं है जितना बार्सिलोना या एम्स्टर्डम में। यहां लोग जल्दी सो जाते हैं और रात को शांति पसंद करते हैं। अगर आप पार्टी के लिए आ रहे हैं, तो शायद यह देश आपके लिए नहीं है।
किसे जाना चाहिए स्विट्जरलैंड
प्रकृति प्रेमी - अगर आप पहाड़ों, झीलों, और हरियाली से प्यार करते हैं, तो स्विट्जरलैंड आपके लिए स्वर्ग है। यहां हर मोड़ पर एक फोटो खींचने लायक दृश्य मिलेगा।
एडवेंचर के शौकीन - स्कीइंग, पैराग्लाइडिंग, हाइकिंग, माउंटेन बाइकिंग - यहां हर तरह का एडवेंचर उपलब्ध है। इंटरलेकन को यूरोप की एडवेंचर कैपिटल कहा जाता है।
हनीमून कपल्स - रोमांटिक माहौल, खूबसूरत होटल, प्राइवेसी - स्विट्जरलैंड हनीमून के लिए परफेक्ट है। लेकिन बजट अच्छा रखें।
फोटोग्राफी के शौकीन - अगर आप फोटोग्राफर हैं, तो यहां आपका कैमरा थकेगा नहीं। हर कोण से, हर मौसम में, यहां के नजारे कमाल के हैं।

2. स्विट्जरलैंड के क्षेत्र - विस्तृत गाइड
ज्यूरिख और आसपास का क्षेत्र
ज्यूरिख स्विट्जरलैंड का सबसे बड़ा शहर है और अधिकांश भारतीय यात्री यहीं से अपनी यात्रा शुरू करते हैं। यह एक बैंकिंग और बिजनेस हब है, लेकिन इसका मतलब यह नहीं कि यहां देखने को कुछ नहीं है।
ज्यूरिख झील के किनारे टहलना एक अद्भुत अनुभव है। साफ नीला पानी, दूर पहाड़ियां, और आसमान में उड़ते हंस - यह दृश्य आपको मंत्रमुग्ध कर देगा। Altstadt (Old Town) में घूमना मत भूलिए - यहां की संकरी गलियां, पुराने चर्च, और रंगीन इमारतें आपको मध्यकालीन यूरोप की झलक दिखाएंगी।
Bahnhofstrasse दुनिया की सबसे महंगी शॉपिंग स्ट्रीट्स में से एक है। यहां Rolex, Patek Philippe, Louis Vuitton जैसे ब्रांड्स के शोरूम हैं। अगर आप सिर्फ window shopping करना चाहते हैं, तो भी यहां जाएं - यह एक अनुभव है।
ज्यूरिख में भारतीय खाने के लिए Hiltl जाएं - यह दुनिया का सबसे पुराना शाकाहारी रेस्तरां है (1898 से)। यहां भारतीय व्यंजन भी मिलते हैं। साथ ही, Bahnhofstrasse के पास कई भारतीय रेस्तरां हैं जहां आप थाली खा सकते हैं।
ज्यूरिख से एक दिन की यात्रा में आप Rhine Falls जा सकते हैं - यूरोप का सबसे बड़ा झरना। Schaffhausen शहर से नाव से जाकर आप झरने के बिल्कुल पास पहुंच सकते हैं। यह अनुभव रोमांचक है - पानी की गर्जना, हवा में उड़ती बूंदें, और चारों ओर इंद्रधनुष।

बर्न - राजधानी का आकर्षण
बर्न स्विट्जरलैंड की राजधानी है, लेकिन यह ज्यूरिख या जिनेवा जैसी भीड़भाड़ वाली नहीं है। यह एक शांत, सुंदर शहर है जहां समय धीरे-धीरे बहता है। पूरा Old Town UNESCO World Heritage Site है।
Aare नदी के किनारे बसा यह शहर अपने आप में एक कलाकृति है। नदी का पानी इतना साफ है कि गर्मियों में लोग उसमें तैरते हैं - नदी के एक किनारे से कूदते हैं और बहते हुए दूसरे किनारे पहुंच जाते हैं। यह एक स्थानीय परंपरा है।
Zytglogge (Clock Tower) 800 साल पुरानी घड़ी है जो आज भी काम करती है। हर घंटे इसका शो देखने लायक है - जब यांत्रिक कठपुतलियां नाचती हैं और भालू अपना प्रदर्शन करते हैं।
बर्न में Bear Park जरूर देखें। भालू इस शहर का प्रतीक है (Bern नाम भी Bear से आया है), और यहां आप असली भालुओं को उनके natural habitat जैसे वातावरण में देख सकते हैं।
Einstein का घर यहीं है - जहां उन्होंने सापेक्षता का सिद्धांत लिखा था। विज्ञान में रुचि रखने वालों के लिए यह एक तीर्थ स्थल है।
बर्न से Emmental Valley जाएं - यहां वो प्रसिद्ध Swiss Cheese बनता है जिसमें बड़े-बड़े छेद होते हैं। Emmentaler Schaukaeserei में आप cheese बनते हुए देख सकते हैं और fresh cheese का स्वाद ले सकते हैं।
बर्नीज़ ओबरलैंड - स्विट्जरलैंड का दिल
यह वो क्षेत्र है जो अधिकांश भारतीयों के सपनों में बसा है। Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Wengen - ये सब नाम सुने होंगे आपने। यहीं है जुंगफ्राउयोख - Top of Europe।
इंटरलेकन दो झीलों के बीच बसा है - Thunersee और Brienzersee। यह एक tourist hub है जहां से आप आसपास के सभी आकर्षणों तक पहुंच सकते हैं। यहां भारतीय रेस्तरां भी अच्छे हैं - Little India और Taj Mahal Restaurant प्रसिद्ध हैं।
जुंगफ्राउयोख जाना महंगा है (लगभग 200+ CHF round trip), लेकिन यह एक ऐसा अनुभव है जो आप कभी नहीं भूलेंगे। 3454 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर यूरोप का सबसे ऊंचा रेलवे स्टेशन है। यहां से आप Aletsch Glacier देख सकते हैं जो Alps का सबसे बड़ा glacier है।
मेरी सलाह है कि जुंगफ्राउयोख सुबह जल्दी जाएं - 7-8 बजे की पहली ट्रेन पकड़ें। दोपहर बाद बादल आ जाते हैं और view खराब हो जाता है। साथ ही, सुबह भीड़ कम होती है।
लॉटरब्रुनेन को Valley of 72 Waterfalls कहते हैं। Staubbach Falls सीधे गांव में गिरता है - 297 मीटर की ऊंचाई से। यह दृश्य अद्भुत है। Trummelbach Falls भी देखें - यह पहाड़ के अंदर है और glacier से पिघलता पानी यहां से बहता है।
ग्रिंडेलवाल्ड Eiger पर्वत की छाया में बसा है। First mountain यहां का प्रमुख आकर्षण है जहां आप Cliff Walk, First Flyer (zip line), और Mountain Cart का आनंद ले सकते हैं।
म्यूरेन एक car-free गांव है जहां आप सिर्फ cable car से पहुंच सकते हैं। यह मेरा पसंदीदा गांव है - शांत, खूबसूरत, और tourist crowd से दूर। Schilthorn (Piz Gloria) यहीं से जाया जाता है - James Bond की फिल्म On Her Majestys Secret Service यहीं फिल्माई गई थी।
केंद्रीय स्विट्जरलैंड और ल्यूसर्न
ल्यूसर्न शायद स्विट्जरलैंड का सबसे फोटोजेनिक शहर है। Lake Lucerne के किनारे बसा यह शहर हर कोण से खूबसूरत दिखता है। Chapel Bridge (Kapellbruecke) यूरोप का सबसे पुराना covered wooden bridge है - 1333 में बना।
यहां से Mount Pilatus और Mount Rigi आसानी से accessible हैं। Pilatus को Golden Round Trip में करें - नाव से Alpnachstad, फिर worlds steepest cogwheel railway से ऊपर, और cable car से वापस Kriens। यह पूरे दिन का perfect अनुभव है।

Matterhorn को देखना एक spiritual experience है। सुबह sunrise के समय जब पहाड़ की चोटी सुनहरी होती है - इसे Alpenglow कहते हैं - तो लगता है जैसे स्वर्ग से कोई रोशनी आ रही है।
Gornergrat railway लें - यह open-air cogwheel railway है जो आपको 3089 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर ले जाती है। यहां से Matterhorn और Monte Rosa दोनों दिखते हैं। Clear day पर यह view unforgettable है।
Glacier Paradise भी जाएं - यह Europes highest cable car station है (3883 मीटर)। यहां साल भर skiing कर सकते हैं। Ice Palace भी है जो glacier के अंदर बना है।

यह स्विट्जरलैंड का सबसे बड़ा canton है और यहां Romansh भाषा बोली जाती है। St. Moritz दुनिया के सबसे exclusive ski resorts में से एक है - यहां winter Olympics दो बार हो चुके हैं।
St. Moritz सिर्फ सर्दियों के लिए नहीं है - गर्मियों में भी यहां hiking और mountain biking excellent है। Muottas Muragl से Engadine Valley का view stunning है।

बेसल - तीन देशों का शहर
बेसल Germany और France की सीमा पर है - आप सुबह का नाश्ता Switzerland में, lunch France में, और dinner Germany में कर सकते हैं। यह शहर art और culture का hub है।
Art Basel दुनिया का सबसे prestigious art fair है। Fondation Beyeler, Kunstmuseum, और Vitra Design Museum जैसे world-class museums हैं यहां।

मेरा favourite Bernina Express है। St. Moritz से Tirano (Italy) तक का यह route UNESCO World Heritage है। जब train Landwasser Viaduct पार करती है - 65 मीटर ऊंचे पुल पर जो curve में है - तो heart skip होता है। Ospizio Bernina station Europe का सबसे ऊंचा railway crossing है।
Golden Pass Line Montreux से Lucerne तक जाती है। इसमें panoramic windows हैं और landscape बदलता रहता है - vineyards से mountains तक।
Swiss Travel Pass लें अगर ज्यादा train travel करनी है - यह unlimited travel देता है और mountains पर भी discount मिलता है।
Mountain Experiences
Jungfraujoch के अलावा भी कई mountain experiences हैं जो equally memorable हैं और often less crowded।
Schilthorn (Piz Gloria) में revolving restaurant है जहां से 360-degree view मिलता है। James Bond exhibition भी है। Jungfraujoch से सस्ता भी है।
Stanserhorn पर CabriO cable car है - दुनिया की पहली convertible cable car जिसकी छत खुल जाती है। Standing on open-air upper deck जाते हुए wind में बाल उड़ना - यह feeling amazing है।
Rochers-de-Naye Montreux के पास है जहां marmots का sanctuary है। बच्चों के साथ जाएं तो वो मर्मोट्स को देखकर खुश हो जाएंगे।
Harder Kulm Interlaken में है - इसे Top of Interlaken कहते हैं। Funicular से जाएं और दोनों झीलों का view देखें।
Lake Activities
स्विट्जरलैंड में 1500 से ज्यादा झीलें हैं और हर एक का अपना character है।
Lake Geneva पर paddle steamer cruise करें - ये 100+ साल पुरानी boats हैं जो अभी भी चलती हैं। Montreux से Lausanne तक का cruise शाम को लें जब sunset हो।
Lake Lucerne पर Wilhelm Tell Express लें - नाव और train का combination जो Lucerne से Lugano तक ले जाता है।
