Wawel Cathedral
Wawel Cathedral is where Polish kings were crowned for over 500 years and where they rest in the Royal Crypts below. The current building dates to the 14th century and blends multiple architectural styles with 18 individually decorated side chapels. The famous Sigismund Bell in the tower weighs 11 tons, dates from 1520, and rings only on major national occasions. Climbing 70 steps to the tower provides a panoramic view of Krakow. The Royal Crypts hold the tombs of Poland's most important figures including kings, poets, and national heroes such as Marshal Jozef Pilsudski
