Artisan village weaving rugs since 500 BCE. 68% of the population works on weaving wool rugs with traditional Zapotec patterns. Wool is hand-dyed with natural dyes from cochineal insects, indigo, and marigold. Watch craftspeople work on traditional looms in their open workshops. Founded in 1465 and maintains authentic Zapotec language and culture.
