Teng Yun Temple
Teng Yun Temple is the oldest surviving Chinese temple in Brunei and one of the few in this predominantly Muslim country. Built in the 1960s by Hokkien Chinese settlers, it features bright red walls, green roof, and intricate dragon carvings. The interior is filled with gilded statues, hand-painted tiles depicting Chinese legends, and the scent of incense. It represents an important symbol of Chinese heritage in Brunei, where the Chinese community comprises about 10% of the population.
