Spanjola Fortress
Spanjola Fortress or Fortica is a majestic stronghold perched above Hvar Town offering the finest panoramic views over the surrounding islands and Adriatic Sea. Built in the 15th and 16th centuries under Venetian rule to protect the town from Ottoman raids. The climb from the main square takes 20-25 minutes along a steep cobblestone path, but the view from the top is worth every step. At sunset the fortress transforms into a magical viewpoint where the Pakleni Islands shimmer beneath golden light. The combined ticket at EUR 15 covers the fortress, theatre, arsenal, loggia, and clock tower, providing excellent value compared to individual tickets
