Shukkei-en Garden
A historic Japanese garden founded in 1620 by feudal lord Asano Nagakira. The name 'Shukkei-en' means 'shrunken scenery' - the garden recreates Japanese landscapes including mountains, valleys, and forests in miniature form around a central pond. Despite being damaged by the atomic bomb, it was carefully restored. Features beautiful maple trees (spectacular in autumn), koi ponds, tea houses, and traditional bridges. Adjacent to the Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum.
