Shuhada Uhud Cemetery
Shuhada Uhud Cemetery is the final resting place of 70 companions of the Prophet who were martyred in the Battle of Uhud in 625 AD. Most notable are Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib (the Prophet's uncle, known as Sayyid al-Shuhada or Chief of Martyrs), Musab ibn Umair (the Muslim flag bearer), and Abdullah ibn Jahsh. The site was extensively renovated in 2017-2018 and now includes a large mosque, Martyrs Square, and visitor facilities across 340 hectares.
