Salineras de Maras is a stunning collection of over 3,000 salt pools cascading down a mountainside. Used since Inca times to extract salt from a natural salty spring, the white, pink, and brown pools create a surreal, unique landscape. Local families still harvest salt using traditional methods and sell it to visitors. The pink salt from here is considered among the finest in the world and is exported internationally.
