The Rödertor Tower is the only defensive tower along Rothenburg's walls that visitors can climb for magnificent views. Located on the eastern side of the old town, it features 103 steps leading to an observation platform with panoramic views of the town's red rooftops and surrounding towers including the Markusturm with its stork's nest. The tower houses a special exhibit about its history.
