Rest House (Peace Park)
An A-bombed building originally constructed in 1929 as the Taishoya Kimono Shop. Located just 170 meters from the hypocenter, 37 employees were inside when the bomb exploded - only one survived: 47-year-old Eizo Nomura, who was in the basement retrieving documents. Renovated in July 2020 to its original appearance, the Rest House now serves as a tourist information center with displays about pre-war Hiroshima and the bombing. The preserved basement shows the space where Nomura survived.
