14th-century walls stretching 4.3 km around the entire old town. Featuring 39 towers and 7 major gates, these are among the best-preserved examples of medieval urban fortifications in France. Built during the Avignon Papacy to protect against marauding mercenaries during the Hundred Years' War.

The walk is along the outside of the walls, not on top of them. The 5km path is on pavements and gravel, requiring no special footwear. Allow 1.5-2 hours for the complete circuit.
