Red Beach is Santorini's most visually spectacular beach - red lava cliffs plunge into turquoise-blue water. The red color comes from oxidized iron in the volcanic rock. Viewing the cliffs from the viewpoint is safe, but descending to the beach is risky due to rockfall.
Parking paid €3. Accessible by boat from Akrotiri port (€5 round trip).
Morning for best light and fewer crowds. The viewpoint is always accessible. Swimming is officially discouraged due to rockfall risk.
