The Plains of Abraham is the historic site of the decisive 1759 battle between the British and French Empires. Today it is a vast 108-hectare urban park attracting 4 million visitors annually for sports, relaxation, concerts, and festivals. Free activities include skating and cross-country skiing in winter (equipment available). The Plains of Abraham Museum presents the region's history through interactive exhibits.
