Pailón del Diablo Waterfall
Pailón del Diablo (Devil's Cauldron) waterfall is Ecuador's most dramatic waterfall, plunging nearly 80 meters into a narrow gorge. The name comes from a rock formation resembling a devil's face and the swirling cauldron-like pool at the base. Two separate trails lead to different viewpoints - one brings you to a platform where spray soaks you, the other passes through caves behind the waterfall itself. The hike from Río Verde takes about 20 minutes downhill.
