St. Nicholas Church, founded around 1165, is Leipzig's oldest church and a pivotal historic site of the 1989 peaceful revolution. The Monday prayers for peace that started here led to the fall of the Berlin Wall. The stunning interior features white columns with palm leaf capitals and a magnificent organ with over 6,000 pipes.
