Naoshima Bath I Love Yu
I Love Yu is a real Japanese public bath (sento) transformed into an immersive artwork by artist Shinro Ohtake. Everything from the exterior to interior - walls, mosaics, bath fixtures, and even toilet seats - is part of the art experience. The design combines Japanese and American influences with colorful collages of signage and a distinctive elephant on the roof. This is a fully functioning bath where locals and tourists actually bathe - bring your own towel or purchase one on-site. Follow Japanese bathing etiquette: wash thoroughly before entering the bath, no swimwear, and tattoos may need to be covered.
