Mount Uhud
Mount Uhud is a mountain north of Medina at 1,077 meters elevation and 7.5 km length. It was the site of the famous Battle of Uhud in 625 AD between Muslims and Quraysh. The Prophet said: 'Uhud is a mountain that loves us and we love it.' It houses the Martyrs Cemetery where Hamza ibn Abdul Muttalib and Musab ibn Umair rest. Visitors can hike trails taking 20-40 minutes to various viewpoints, visit martyrs' graves, and enjoy panoramic views of Medina, especially beautiful at sunset.
