Main Market Square
Krakow's Main Market Square is one of the largest medieval squares in Europe at 200 by 200 meters, laid out in 1257. Surrounded by colorful historic buildings, cafes, and restaurants, it features the Cloth Hall at its center and the old Town Hall Tower. The square buzzes around the clock with street performers, musicians, horse-drawn carriages, and the hourly trumpet call from St. Mary's Basilica tower. Beneath the square lies the Rynek Underground Museum revealing archaeological layers from the Middle Ages. In December it hosts Poland's largest Christmas market with traditional crafts and mulled wine
