Lavender Fields
The lavender fields of Hvar Island are among the most beautiful seasonal landscapes in Croatia. The fields are concentrated around the villages of Velo Grablje and Brusje in the island's interior, 5-8 km from Hvar Town. From mid-June to early July, the hillsides transform into a fragrant purple carpet that draws photographers and hikers from around the world. The annual Lavender Festival is typically held on the first weekend of July and includes lavender harvesting, essential oil distillation, and traditional crafts. Outside bloom season, lavender products such as oils, sachets, and soaps can be purchased from shops in Hvar Town. Additional fields are found near Zastrazisce, Gdinj, and Bogomolje in the eastern part of the island
