Kampong Ayer Water Village
Kampong Ayer is the world's largest water village, known as the Venice of the East. With over 1,000 years of history, it comprises more than 40 smaller settlements connected by wooden boardwalks over the Brunei River. Around 30,000 people live in stilt houses with modern amenities including electricity, running water, and internet. The village features schools, mosques, shops, and restaurants. Speedboats ferry residents and tourists for just 1 BND, offering a unique glimpse into traditional Bruneian life.
