Jaffa Port
Old Jaffa Port is one of the world's oldest ports, believed to be the same location as the Biblical story of Jonah and the Whale. Located at the southwestern end of Tel Aviv, this port has been a strategic point in the Eastern Mediterranean for centuries. Today, the port is used largely by local fishermen who continue the centuries-old tradition of the area. The area is smaller than the ports of Haifa and Akko but remains an iconic cultural landmark drawing tourists from all over the globe. The more modern hub provides exhibitions of art and photography. The area is known for its famous seafood restaurants including The Old Man and the Sea and The Fishermen's Restaurant. Art galleries like Dvir Gallery offer temporary exhibitions. In the evening, the port transforms into a vibrant scene with artists and musicians.
