Hondori Shopping Street
A covered shopping arcade stretching 577 meters through downtown Hiroshima. Home to over 200 shops, restaurants, and cafes, ranging from century-old establishments to modern chain stores. Connects Peace Memorial Park in the west to PARCO department store in the east. Historically part of the Saigoku Kaido (Sanyo Road) in the Edo period. Rebuilt in 1954 after the atomic bombing. Attracts about 100,000 people daily. The underground Kamiyacho Shareo mall connects from the Hondori tram stop.
