Hiroshima Hypocenter
This site marks the location above which the 'Little Boy' atomic bomb exploded at 600 meters altitude at 8:15 AM on August 6, 1945. The location was near Shima Hospital, which was completely destroyed. A small monument and plaque mark the spot, located in a quiet alley near the present-day Shima Clinic. The precise coordinates were confirmed using satellite imagery analysis.
