Gordon Beach
Gordon Beach is one of Tel Aviv's most famous and beloved beaches, centrally located near the intersection of Gordon Street and Herbert Samuel Promenade. Named after AD Gordon, a prominent figure in the Zionist movement, it offers a family-friendly atmosphere with clean sand and shallow waters guarded by lifeguards from approximately 7:00 AM until sunset during season. The beach is famous for the legendary Gordon Pool, a year-round saltwater seawater pool overlooking the Mediterranean, providing a controlled alternative to open sea swimming. Facilities include outdoor showers, changing rooms, public restrooms, a beach restaurant with tables right on the sand, and a kiosk for snacks and beach toys. The beach also features a free beach library on honor system, volleyball courts, and a north-side area perfect for surfing lessons. The beautiful aquamarine water, fine sand, and central location make Gordon Beach ideal for sunbathing, swimming, beach sports, and watching spectacular sunsets over the Mediterranean.
