Dorp Street
Dorp Street is South Africa's best-preserved historic street, featuring buildings spanning three centuries of Cape Dutch architecture. Originally the carriage road to the Cape, it was slowly shaped by wagon wheels connecting the Cape of Good Hope with Van der Stel's small settlement. Today it houses art galleries, antique shops, cafes, and restaurants in stunning historic buildings with distinctive gabled facades and thatched roofs. A walk along Dorp Street is a journey through colonial history.
