Bilal Ibn Rabah Mosque
Bilal Ibn Rabah Mosque is named after the first muezzin in Islam, the companion Bilal ibn Rabah. Bilal was a former Abyssinian slave who embraced Islam, was brutally tortured, then freed by Abu Bakr. He was known for his beautiful voice and unwavering loyalty to the Prophet. Located south of the Prophet's Mosque, a 5-minute walk from the South Gate, the mosque is on the first floor above a busy market. Though small, it is well-maintained with modern design blended with traditional Islamic architecture.
