Basilica di Santa Croce
The Basilica di Santa Croce is the largest Franciscan church in the world and the burial place of Italy's most illustrious figures, including Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, and Rossini. Built in the 13th century, it contains 16 chapels decorated with magnificent frescoes by Giotto and works by Brunelleschi. Known as the 'Temple of Italian Glories', it is one of Florence's most important artistic and historical landmarks.
