The Basilica di San Lorenzo is one of Florence's oldest churches and the official church of the Medici family. Designed by Brunelleschi in the 15th century, it houses the Medici Chapels with family tombs adorned by Michelangelo's famous sculptures, and the Biblioteca Laurenziana designed by Michelangelo.
