Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré
The Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré is one of North America's most important pilgrimage sites, welcoming nearly one million visitors annually. Named after Saint Anne, patron saint of sailors, it has been known for miraculous healings since the 17th century. The current Romanesque-Gothic church (built 1926) features magnificent mosaics, stunning stained glass windows, and a collection of crutches left by healed pilgrims. The peak pilgrimage period is around July 26, the feast of Saint Anne. Located 30 km from Québec City, it combines spiritual significance with architectural beauty.
