Basílica del Voto Nacional
The Basílica del Voto Nacional rises as the largest neo-Gothic church in the Americas, dominating Quito's skyline with its twin towers soaring 115 meters high. Construction began in 1892 and continued for over a century, with small details still being completed. The basilica features unique gargoyles shaped as native Ecuadorian animals - Galápagos tortoises, iguanas, and condors - instead of traditional European monsters. Climbing to the towers rewards visitors with breathtaking panoramic views of the city and surrounding volcanoes.
