Best Time to Visit

November to May (dry season) for best visibility and calmest seas. Morning tours (departing 7:00-8:00 AM) offer the clearest waters before afternoon winds pick up. Avoid visiting during typhoon season (June-October) when boat trips may be cancelled. December to February is peak season with more crowds.

How to Get There

Book an island hopping tour from Alona Beach (₱1,500-2,000 per person) which includes boat transfer, snorkeling gear, and guide. Tours can be booked at beachfront tour operators or through your hotel. Pay the ₱300 environmental fee at the tent on Alona Beach before departure. The boat ride takes 30-40 minutes each way.

What to Expect

Expect a 30-40 minute boat ride from Alona Beach to the island. Upon arrival, you will register and receive a brief orientation about marine sanctuary rules. Snorkeling at Turtle Point offers close encounters with green sea turtles (sightings almost guaranteed). The Coral Garden features vibrant corals and diverse fish species. Kayak guides paddle you to snorkeling spots for ₱200-250 extra. Basic facilities including restrooms and small eateries are available on the island. GoPro cameras are available for rent.

Yes! Turtle sightings are almost guaranteed at Turtle Point. Green sea turtles frequently graze on seagrass in shallow waters and are accustomed to snorkelers. Guides know exactly where to find them. The best time is morning before 10 AM when turtles are most active.

No, you do not need to be a strong swimmer. Life vests are provided and required for snorkeling. Kayak guides paddle you to the snorkeling spots while you float and observe the marine life below. The guides will assist you throughout the experience.
