Alexandria Corniche
An iconic waterfront promenade stretching over 16 kilometers along the Mediterranean coast, from Qaitbay Citadel in the west to Montazah Palace in the east. Designed by Italian-Egyptian architect Pietro Avoscani in 1870 and opened in 1935, the Corniche is Alexandria's living room - a place where the city comes to breathe, socialize, and enjoy the sea breeze. Along the way you'll pass major landmarks including Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Stanley Bridge, and Saad Zaghloul Square.
