The largest Roman burial site in Egypt, dating from the 2nd century AD. It features a unique blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman art, extending over three underground levels to a depth of 35 meters. Discovered accidentally in 1900 when a donkey fell into an access shaft, these remarkable catacombs contain over 300 mummies.
