Teluk Pauh is the most famous beach on Perhentian Besar island, stretching nearly half a kilometer with soft white sand and turquoise clear water. Also known as 'Turtle Point' because green sea turtles regularly feed on the seagrass beds near the shore. The beach offers perfect snorkeling conditions for beginners and families with shallow, calm water and colorful coral reefs. Visitors can spot giant humphead parrotfish, butterflyfish, bluespotted ribbontail rays, and reef sharks. Two resorts sit directly on this beach making it ideal for comfortable stays.

Turtle Beach is a protected sea turtle nesting site located on the eastern coast of Perhentian Besar island. The beach stretches approximately 350 meters and consists of two charming bays separated by natural rocks. During night hours from 9PM to 5AM, green sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. Access is prohibited after 6PM to protect the nesting turtles. The beach is accessible only by water taxi or rented kayak from the main beaches. There are no facilities on the beach which preserves its wild character. A unique place to observe marine life in its natural habitat.
