Take the cable car (Argo) to Anuria Mountain for stunning city and sea views. Best at sunset. Round trip costs 15 GEL.
Beaches in Batumi center are pebbly with murky water. For better swimming, go to Gonio, Kvariati, or Sarpi (15-30 min south).
Batumi Botanical Garden is one of the largest in the former USSR. Allow 3-4 hours. Take marshrutka #31 from center or cable car from Chakvi.
Try Adjarian khachapuri - boat-shaped cheese bread with egg and butter. Different from other Georgian khachapuri. Best at local cafes, not tourist spots.
Casinos are open 24/7 and give free drinks. Popular with Turkish, Iranian, and Arab tourists. Minimum bets usually low (from 5 GEL).
