Eat at local markets - full meals for just $2-3. Walk everywhere - the town is compact and most attractions within 15 min of plaza.
Book adventure activities as combo packages for big discounts. Most operators offer 3-4 activities bundle deals.
Use official yellow taxis or green/white camionetas only. Always negotiate price before getting in. Taxi drivers may overcharge tourists.
Respect local customs: always greet with 'buenos días/tardes/noches' before any conversation. Say 'buen provecho' before meals. Don't point with finger - use whole hand.
