Siete Pecados Marine Park

Siete Pecados Marine Park: The Seven Sins of Paradise

Rising from the waters between Coron town and Coron Island, seven small limestone islets form one of Palawan's most accessible and rewarding marine sanctuaries. Siete Pecados—the "Seven Sins" in Spanish—takes its evocative name from the cluster of islands that, depending on who's counting, number roughly seven, each one a temptation to linger, explore, and return. For snorkelers and divers, this marine park offers exactly what the name suggests: guilty pleasures of the best kind.

100 PHP~100 $

₱100 per person entrance fee to the marine park. Island hopping tours including Siete Pecados: ₱1,500-3,500 per person (includes boat, lunch, multiple stops). Private boat from town: ₱250 per person + entrance fee. Snorkel rental: ₱150-200 if not provided by tour. Kayak rental available at Tourist Information Office.

Best Time to Visit

November to May (dry season) for calm seas and best snorkeling conditions. Early morning (8-10 AM) offers calmest waters, best visibility (up to 15-20 meters), and fewer crowds before tour boats arrive. December to April is peak season with optimal weather. June to October (monsoon) can have reduced visibility and rougher seas, though snorkeling is still possible on calmer days.

How to Get There

From Coron Town: Option 1 - Join an island hopping tour that includes Siete Pecados (most convenient, ₱1,500-3,500). Option 2 - Hire tricycle to Siete Pecados Tourist Information Office (₱800 return, 20-25 min over dirt roads), then arrange boat from there (₱250 per person). The office is on the same road as Maquinit Hot Springs. Option 3 - Rent a private boat directly from Coron pier (₱1,000-1,500 for 2-3 hours). The marine park is just 10-15 minutes by boat from Coron Town.

What to Expect

Expect to be amazed from the moment you enter the water. The seven limestone islets create sheltered coves with some of the healthiest coral reefs in Coron, featuring hard and soft corals in vibrant colors. Schools of tropical fish swarm around you - parrotfish, butterflyfish, clownfish, angelfish, and more. With luck, you may spot hawksbill sea turtles, giant clams, or even reef sharks. The shallow depth (2-8 meters) means excellent visibility of the sea floor even while floating. Most visits last 1-2 hours of snorkeling around multiple islets. Boats anchor nearby while you explore. Some tours include other stops like Kayangan Lake or CYC Beach. Bring an underwater camera - the photo opportunities are exceptional.

Absolutely! Siete Pecados is one of the best snorkeling spots for beginners. The water is shallow (2-8 meters), so you can see everything clearly while floating on the surface. The sheltered coves between the islets mean calm waters with minimal currents. Life jackets are available and recommended for non-swimmers. The coral reefs start right from the surface, so there's no need to dive down to see the marine life - the fish come to you! Tour guides can assist beginners with equipment and technique.
