Medina of Rabat
The Medina of Rabat is the beating heart of the city and part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. It features narrow winding streets and whitewashed houses with blue doors. Unlike Marrakech and Fes, it is relatively calm and easy to navigate. It houses traditional souks selling spices, leather, jewelry, and pottery. Rue des Consuls is the main street for artisan shopping. There are cafes and restaurants serving authentic Moroccan cuisine. The medina offers an authentic experience without the overwhelming crowds of other Moroccan cities.
